The Municipal Water and Sanitation Board of Ciudad Juárez (JMAS) announced the replacement of the Insurgentes collector, the current pipeline is more than 50 years old and has reached the end of its useful life, the decentralized agency reported.
The replacement of this infrastructure will benefit 3,577 families residing in various neighborhoods, including Nogales Norte, Los Nogales, Del Colegio, Mascareñas, Segunda Burócrata, Paula, San Patricio, Nava, Privada Capistrano and Raúl García, said the JMAS.
In addition to improving the sanitation system, the renovation of the collector will prevent possible problems related to overflow or deterioration of the existing pipe.
The JMAS said that the replacement work on the Insurgentes collector involves a total investment of 21 million pesos exclusively for the purchase of new pipes.
In several stages
The project will be developed in several stages and will cover a section of approximately 1,716 meters of pipeline that will be replaced.
Of these, 870 meters will have a diameter of 30 inches, while the remaining 846 meters will have a diameter of 24 inches.
The start of the works is scheduled to begin at the intersection of De la Raza Avenue and Article 39 Street. From this point, the renovation will advance along Article 39 Street until reaching Insurgentes Avenue. Subsequently, the works will extend along Insurgentes Avenue in a westerly direction until the intersection with López Mateos Avenue, the agency stated.
This extension will cover the most critical areas and ensure a complete renovation of the sewerage system in this important area of the city.
‘A step towards modernization’
The governor of Chihuahua, María Eugenia Campos Galván, expressed her support for this project as part of the state government’s efforts to improve the quality of life of citizens.
According to Campos Galván, the JMAS continues to work on the implementation of projects that seek to guarantee a better standard of living and protect the public health of the people of Juarez.
These types of works reflect the commitment to critical infrastructure and the well-being of the community.
The replacement of the Insurgentes collector is a fundamental step towards the modernization and maintenance of the city’s infrastructure, contributing to the stability of the sanitation system and the prevention of future problems.
JMAS assured that during the construction process measures will be taken to minimize the impact on the daily lives of residents and traffic in the affected areas.
“The efficient execution of this project is key to maintaining the functionality and efficiency of the sewerage system in Ciudad Juárez,” he concluded.
