Juarez City.- Starting next Monday, August 12, the Regional Hospital No. 2 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) will begin to provide its first services to its beneficiaries.
This Wednesday, IMSS representatives presented details of the infrastructure that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his successor Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will oversee.
Borsalino Romero González Andrade, head of the institute’s Administration Department, explained that the hospital will start on Monday with 12 specialties, including traumatology and orthopedics, some of them in the morning and afternoon. In addition to outpatient clinics, pharmacy, imaging and laboratories initially.
The operation will be gradual. The hospital is expected to be operating at 70 percent capacity by August 30, and surgeries, operating rooms, outpatient surgery and endoscopy will be integrated by September 10.
Primary care is expected to be available by September 20th, and the entire hospital will be operational by the end of September, with intensive care, hemodialysis and the burn unit.
This afternoon it was reported that the unit will have 2,742 workers, of which 513 are specialists, 1,153 are nurses and 1,076 are administrative and paramedics. In addition, care will be provided to 432,000 beneficiaries, who will be referred from the different Family Medicine Units, including those in Casas Grandes and Nuevo Casas Grandes.
It will no longer be necessary to take burn victims to Torreón, said González Andrade.
