Recently in an interview for the Podcast “Happy Sad Confused”, the director confessed that I didn’t want the film’s story to become redundant.because despite taking place in the same galaxy as the rest of the films in the saga He set out to bring fans something organic.
“I will say that the experience of creating this story has forced me to think about that question of why Star Wars movies can only revisit the same section of the timeline a certain number of times, that’s really forced me, because I don’t want to make a Star Wars movie that’s redundant with other movies, nor am I interested in making one that has to serve another movie.” he expressed Shawn Levy about his film.
Later in the podcast, Levy elaborated on what kind of approach he was thinking of taking to the film, revealing that would like to be able to focus on the use and origin of the force in the Star Wars universe.
“I really wanted to create something that felt organic to me, both in tone and in characters, so I think there is certainly the Force and a connection to something bigger than our individual selves, the way that that can make us powerful, those themes, combined with visual delight and wish fulfillment, that’s Star Wars to me.“Levy said about some of the ideas he has for the film.
