In Fonte Nuova, in the province northeast of Rome, a 72-year-old woman was killed with at least one gunshot by her husband. According to the newspaper The Republicthe man, 73 years old, confessed to the femicide.
The victim was called Annarita Morelli. The body was found this morning, Tuesday 6 August, inside her car, a Fiat Panda, in via Palombarese, near a senior center. Rescue attempts were unsuccessful.
The Carabinieri of Mentana and the Monterotondo company intervened on the scene, stopping the woman’s husband and taking him to the barracks.
The man, in a confused state, allegedly told some customers of a nearby bar that he was the one who killed his wife and called the Carabinieri. The weapon was seized.
According to an initial reconstruction, Morelli was in her car in the driver’s seat when her husband approached her from outside and shot her.
