Venezuelans living in Juárez or on the move will prepare a demonstration for this Saturday, August 3, in which they will express their position on the situation their country is going through, following the result of last Sunday’s presidential elections.
Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE) has proclaimed 61-year-old Nicolás Maduro Moros re-elected for a third six-year term, proposed as a candidate by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.
Maduro has led the destiny of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela during the periods 2013-2019 and 2019-2025.
The election results have led to allegations of fraud by the opposition, as well as the outbreak of protests that have resulted in the deaths of a dozen Venezuelans and hundreds of people arrested for supporting the opposition candidate Edmundo González Urrutia, whom the people recognize as the winner of the electoral process.
Here, the public demonstration “Frontera Unida por una Venezuela Libre” is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Mexicanidad, where citizens will express their position on what is happening in their country and which has been one of the reasons that forced them to leave everything.
- Location: Plaza of Mexicanidad.
- Day: Saturday, August 3.
- Time: 7:00 pm
