Rins raises the white flag
Two races ago in Assen, Alex Rins he had suffered a hand and foot injury and had missed the Sachsenring race in order to recover as best he could, then taking advantage of the MotoGP summer break.
Today at Silverstone the Spanish rider is back on track riding his Yamaha, despite not being in perfect physical condition. The fall suffered during the trials – finished in 18th place – advised the driver to give up the English race, in agreement with the team. Rins will therefore take another two weeks off and will try to return for the Austrian weekend, August 16-18.
Rins’ words
“After checking my health conditions with the doctors, we decided that the most responsible thing for me would be to skip the rest of the weekend of the British Grand Prix. As you can imagine, I feel sorry for myself and for the team. But the pain I am feeling and the risks of an even worse injury, after having spoken to the doctors, have pushed me to take this decision.”
