Beast Charge
Pre-qualifying for the British GP certainly didn’t get off to the best possible start for Enea Bastianiniwhich after a few moments from the start of the session was victim of technical problem which forced him to continue the work with the second bike at his disposal. Despite this initial hitch, however, the ‘Beast’ immediately proved to be fast on the Silverstone track, earning thedirect access to Q2 with the fourth time. Bastianini’s race pace was also interesting, so much so that Pecco Bagnaia said that He and Martin will be his main challengers in the weekend.
Good feelings
“It was a positive day – explained the future KTM rider at the end of the day – I felt quite good already in the first session with the basic setup. This afternoon we had a problem with the first bike and it cost us some time, but I was able to find my rhythm right away once I got back on track with the second one and I was fast“.
“It was important to try the hard tyre on the front but in the end we didn’t feel like it – explained Bastianini – despite the temperatures being in line with this option. In the end we should have used it. I’m still happy because we did a good job: We are in Q2 and tomorrow we will have to make another small step forward to be able to compete for a place in the front row of the lineup”.
