Farewell to Laura Gillio Meina, one of the most influential and successful women in Italy: she was 57 years old
One of the most successful women in Italy, whose work in the field of biomedical engineering led her to enter the list of the top 100 most influential women drawn up by Forbes Italy. Laura Gillio Melina she succumbed to a disease that left her no escape. She left behind her husband and two daughters.
Born in Ivrea 57 years ago, Laura Gillio Melina first obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan, and then specialized in the field of biomedicalin which over the years it has become one of the leading exponents at a national and international level.
It was currently Vice President of Confindustria Medical Devicesbut at the same time also held a top position in the multinational Boston Scientific Italy, that of Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart Business Unit Director Southern Europe. In 2019, crowning an extraordinary career, full of successes, the magazine Forbes Italy had included it in the list of 100 Most Successful Women and most influential people in the country, alongside leading figures in sports and science such as Samantha Cristoforetti and Tania Cagnotto. She leaves her husband Fabio, the daughters Martina and Maddalena and his mother Silvana. The funeral was celebrated last July 27th in the church of Torre Balfredo.
