Juarez City.- ‘There were no challenges,’ says IMSS national union in Chihuahua elections
The National Union of Social Security Workers (SNTSS) said that no challenges were registered during the period established to question the validity of the candidacies.
He also expressed his rejection of the incidents that occurred at the XXXI Ordinary Sectional Congress of Section VIII Chihuahua, where the event was prevented from taking place and the Congress headquarters was damaged.
The National Electoral Commission of the SNTSS issued the call on June 21 for the renewal of the Sectional Executive Committee of Section VIII Chihuahua, with a management period from August 16, 2024 to August 15, 2030.
Candidate registration took place between June 28 and July 4, with a total of 10 registered candidates, all meeting the established requirements.
During the appeal period, from July 12 to 18, no appeals were filed.
The voting process took place on July 29 with the participation of 12,040 voters, from a register of 16,446 members, representing 73.15 percent of the total.
The voting results were as follows:
– Guinda ballot: 2,787 votes (16.94%)
– Black Gold ticket: 2,032 votes (12.35%)
– Yellow Ticket: 2,003 votes (12.17%)
– Turquoise Slate: 1,329 votes (8.08%)
– Black Slate: 1,184 votes (7.19%)
– Orange Slate: 1,066 votes (6.48%)
– Lemon Green Slate: 534 votes (3.24%)
– Violet ballot: 483 votes (2.93%)
– White Slate: 340 votes (2.06%)
– Pink Slate: 282 votes (1.71%)
The Guinda team was the winner.
The National Electoral Commission assured that the rights of voters were respected during the process and that the voting was carried out in a free, secret and direct manner.
He also stressed that there is no basis for the accusations of electoral fraud and emphasized that, in a process with multiple candidates, each vote has its value in trade union democracy.
