Creative director Julian Gerighty is convinced that the criticisms of the protagonist of Star Wars Outlaws are in bad faith and therefore do not deserve a response or even a discussion, as recently happened with the issue of Yasuke and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
“Kay is a relatable charactera petty thief who ends up having to deal with a story bigger than herself, making bad decisions and dealing with them with humor, humility and toughness,” Gerighty explained in an interview. “That’s what matters to me. And then she’s beautiful, come on.”
“These controversies are meaningless to me and are not worth considering. If you are dealing with people in bad faith, there are no nuances and there is no possibility of a real dialogue. So all we can do is make the best game we can.”
A truly ambitious project
These days the creative director of Star Wars Outlaws revealed that the game’s open world is inspired by that of an important PlayStation exclusive, reiterating how this project represents a dream come true for developers at Massive Entertainment.
As you may recall, the controversy surrounding Kay Vess’s appearance began a few months ago, just like the controversy surrounding theAssassin’s Creed Shadows Authenticitybut Gerighty has decided to deal with the situation in the best possible way.
At this point, the ball is in Massive Entertainment’s court, and on August 30th they will have to demonstrate that they have created a Star Wars adventure that lives up to the expectations of the many fans of this famous narrative universe.
