Paris France.- 17-year-old Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh has claimed her second gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In the swimming pool at the Paris La Défense Arena, where she won silver in the 400-metre freestyle and triumphed in the 400-metre medley, McIntosh completed the 200-metre butterfly in a time of 2:03.03, beating the Olympic record of China’s Yufei Zhang with 2:03.86, which she achieved three years ago in Tokyo.
McIntosh is one of the figures to follow in Olympic women’s swimming in Paris, alongside athletes such as Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O’Callaghan from Australia, Katie Ledecky from the United States, among others.
Summer again fell short of an Olympic medal in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay final with Canada, as she again finished fourth as she had in the 4×100 relay.
ANOTHER RECORD FALLS
Australia achieved its second Olympic team record in the 4×200-metre freestyle relay by winning gold with a time of 7:38.08, surpassing the mark set three years earlier in Tokyo, China with 7:40.33. The podium was completed by the United States with silver and China with bronze.
