Finally. The sultry heat of July, brought by the African anticyclone, has loosened its grip on Italy. Many in these days of boiling temperatures have been wondering ‘when will the wave of extreme heat end’: here they are, at least for now. Since yesterday, in fact, the heat has granted a truce to the Peninsula and The red dot, the maximum alert, has disappeared from the Ministry of Health’s heatwave bulletinalso due to bad weather. In Milan there is a yellow alert for thunderstorms until 6 am today, Tuesday 23 July.
Alert signal 3, the maximum risk level for heat waves, at least for the first part of the week does not mark any of the 27 monitored provincial capitals. And so for 3 days, starting yesterday, we will not go beyond alert 2: orange dot today July 23 in 7 cities (Bologna, Florence, Frosinone, Perugia, Rieti, Rome and Viterbo) and tomorrow in 9 (Campobasso, Florence, Frosinone, Genoa, Palermo, Perugia, Rieti, Rome and Viterbo). In green (zero risk level) or yellow (level 1) the other provincial capitals.
