According to CONMEBOL it represents “the unique fusion between the South American passion for soccer and the vibrant American atmosphere”. Beyond this description, everything makes a lot of sense in their choice, they have sought to unite the entire continent and find a way for the character to have a little of each participant in the competition, such as the symbology that this animal has in various cultures of America where it represents strength, audacity and excellence.

The choice of the animal was due to the fact that the bald eagle is the national bird of USA and it is present in most of the official coats of arms of said country. Its colors are precisely the same as those on the American flag and the same Conmebol added to his description that this pet is “Daughter of a Latin mother and American father, Captain invites us to celebrate the cultural diversity of South America and the United States, always respecting the differences between countries.”
