Mexico City.- Reflecting the soul of Café Tacvba, considered one of the most emblematic rock bands in Mexico, as well as what it means to hold a concert and what Guadalajara and its audience represent to its members, is what the documentary Ingrito, Una Noche con addresses. Tacvba Coffee.
The film about Rubén Albarrán’s band, Emmanuel “Meme” del Real, Joselo and Enrique Rangel, lasts 30 minutes and is part of the Made in Jalisco selection, of the current edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG).
“All these aspects are addressed while intertwined with images of the performance that Café Tacvba offered in the Plaza de la Liberación during the Independence celebrations in September 2023.
“Although the Tacubos are the protagonists, they speak very little, because they are really described by people close to their lives, like Gabriel Aury, musician and super friend of Rubén, the vocalist; there is Enrique Blanc, a music specialist, who made a book about them; there is Dante Gudiño, his manager, and Jaime López, author of ‘Chilanga Banda’,” said Alejandro Tavares, director of the documentary.
The director added that the rock band’s concert in Guadalajara last year was recorded with 16 cameras, which were strategically distributed to capture the experience from all angles.
“We also addressed the point of view that the Tacubos have about Guadalajara, because although they are from the State of Mexico, they have been talking since the first time they came to the City by train.
“Part of the idea was to capture, in addition, everything that a band like Café Tacvba generates beyond the show that we all enjoy, I wanted to capture what happens behind the four musicians on stage, like the army of people who work for it. and the rest of the processes for a show,” he explained.
Ingrito… premiered last Saturday at the Cineforo and has already registered several screenings within the framework of the FICG.
According to Tavares, the documentary is part of film festivals such as Morelia, Guanajuato, Toronto and Viña del Mar, among others.
In addition, we will look for it to be on a streaming platform.
