The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gameplay trailer is the most viewed ever for the Activision series: just two days after publication, the video has totaled almost 50 million views on YouTube.
This is an extraordinary success, probably linked to the confirmation that the new episode it will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from launch: an element that on paper should significantly boost subscriptions and sales of Microsoft consoles.
However, there is certainly also an impact on the great curiosity around the game the new setting of the Gulf War: a decidedly more recent and vivid conflict than those to which the franchise had accustomed us, and which will mark the return of iconic characters such as Frank Woods and Russel Adler.
Xbox has dropped the ace
If it is true that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard was so strongly desired precisely because of Call of Duty and its incredible popularity, it is clear that bringing the game to Game Pass represents the proverbial ace for Xbox.
Of course the shooter it did not become a Microsoft exclusive for a whole series of reasons, from agreements signed with Sony and the antitrust authorities to a simple question of commercial convenience, but the fact that it is free represents a strong incentive in any case.
Even more so if, as we imagine will happen, they appear in the catalog of the subscription service also all the previous chapters of the series produced by Activision.
