Porsche flies
We officially enter the week that will lead to the highly anticipated event of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024, but while waiting for the first Free Practice sessions which will begin on Wednesday 12 June, the first effective feedback has arrived from Test Day. A day in which the first signs of challenge to the competition were launched Porsche Penske 963especially the #6 by Lotterer, Vanthoor and Estre.
Estre impresses
If, at the end of the first three hours of the morningshe had been there Toyota Gazoo #7 of Kobayashi, De Vries and Lopez (called to replace the injured Conway) to achieve the best performances on the track with the time of 3:28.467the afternoon session instead it saw the Stuttgart manufacturer as the absolute protagonist. Specifically, Estre stopped the clock on 3:26.907a decidedly interesting time for a test and above all three seconds lower than that set last year by the Ferrari 499P #51, again on the occasion of Test Day. Porsche which achieved a ‘double’ with the #4 in second position and two tenths behind, for a hat-trick that was only lost due to the performance of the Toyota #8. Finally, the Ferrari AF Corse #50 of Fuoco, Molina and Nielsen closes in the top five, but just over a second behind the leaders.
LMP2 and LMGT3
Testing time for classes too LMP2 and LMGT3. In the first it is highlighted Olivier Jarvis at the wheel of the Oreca #22 of the United Autosports teamestablishing the best time of the day 3:34.704. Narrower gaps, however, in LMGT3with the Corvette TF Sport #82 by Sebastien Baud ahead of everyone but with an advantage of only 27 thousandths from the Aston Martin #27 and the BMW #31 of the WRT team, both in second place with the same time. Speaking of WRT, Valentino Rossi’s #46 finished in eighth place.
