Literally a “start with a bang” that ofXbox Games Showcase 2024which as the first reveal showed us none other than the new chapter of id Software’s FPS series: make way for the very violent third chapter of the new trilogy, entitled DOOM: The Dark Ages!
As seems to be very fashionable at Xbox, see Gears of War: E-Dayalso in this case we are faced with a prequel to the story: the origin of the Slayer and his insatiable wrath that unleashed him against the forces of hell will be told.
DOOM: The Dark Ages it will therefore be a prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal, however made with the best and most recent technologies developed for the idTech engine. The game will be published on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, obviously arriving at D1 among the Xbox Game Pass titles.
The firefights and devastation typical of the series will be proposed again with a more medieval touch, almost dark fantasy, as can be seen from the Slayer’s equipment and his particular shield. The enemies will also undergo a themed “restyle”, but they will not be less dangerous (quite the contrary).
In DOOM: The Dark Ages we will also have the opportunity to control gigantic robots or fly in the sky with Mecha version dragons! You can take a look at this and much more in the reveal trailer, which you can find at the end of the article.
