The Mirafiori factory will also welcome the lines of the new Fiat 500 hybrid, based on the current generation of 500e. It is no longer a secret and the Turin brand has also confirmed that the brand’s intentions are to present the car between the end of 2025 and the first months of 2026. The arrival of the lines of the electrified version of the Cinquino in the historic factory just outside of Turin will thus make it possible to meet the employment and productivity needs which the Government is also pushing for.
The words of Olivier Francois
The new hybrid Fiat 500 will therefore be born in Mirafiori and like the electric 500 it will be designed, engineered and designed here. A decision taken by the Italian brand precisely to reiterate its connection with Italy and Turin: “Fiat is proud to be the flag bearer of Italy in the world – commented Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and Global Chief Marketing Officer of Stellantis – “Italy represents our foundations, our driving force and our future. And Mirafiori is one of our engines, representing Italy, its people, its values, its pride and the 500. But today, 90% of Mirafiori’s production is destined abroad. To increase the number of 500s on Italian roads and respond to Italian customers, we have decided to produce the new 500 Hybrid, which has an Italian name, will be designed and styled in Turin and proudly Made in Mirafiori. It is clear that Mirafiori plays a strategic role for the brand and that we are continuing to invest in Italy, in the 500 and in Mirafiori.”
The importance of Italy for Fiat
The brand’s number one therefore wanted to underline the central role of Turin for Fiat, where the 500e, the 500X, the Panda and the Fiat Professional Ducato are currently produced. To underline the link with Mirafiori and the brand’s ambitions, the new Fiat 500e Mirafiori version was also revealed, a special series that celebrates the Turin plant and which will only be sold on the Italian market.
