Checo remains at Red Bull
During this week, Red Bull made the decision official renew the contract with Sergio Perezsetting the new expiry of the agreement at the end of 2026. The Mexican, who turned 34 last January, thus snatched the reconfirmation on a two-year basis, although rumors immediately emerged about the possible existence of a performance termination clause which would invalidate the second season .
Perez has earned the trust of Christian Horner, for a contract renewal that seemed anything but probable at the end of last year. The Mexican was among the protagonists of the press conference to present the Canadian Grand Prix.
Perez’s words
“In every negotiation there are always aspects that are not so simple, but now we can focus fully on performance. There are great teams making progress and we need to imitate them. Let’s hope we don’t have the same problems here in Canada as in Monacobut I expect to see a stronger RB20.
My renewal to please Verstappen? There are always rumors, but I have to focus on my work and I am happy with what we have achieved so far. I’m happy to move forward with the team, the Red Bull challenge is big, but once you sign, you’re ready for this challenge. What if there were alternatives? We always talk to others, there were other options but my plan A, B and C was Red Bull. I want to end my career here and give my best until the last lap.”
