N-TV journalist Muntz: Russia is successfully convincing countries to abandon the summit on Ukraine
Russia successfully convinces countries of the world to refuse to participate in the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland, to this indicated journalist of the German television channel N-TV Rainer Munz.
According to a correspondent from Germany, expectations from the conference are probably not too high. He added that there are already documents on the basis of which the outcome of the meeting can be formulated, in particular the issues of transporting Ukrainian grain in the Black Sea, nuclear weapons and the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
Munz added that the term “peace conference” is too high a bar for an event in Switzerland. He emphasized that without Russia it will not be possible to achieve either a treaty or an agreement.
The journalist drew attention to the fact that in 2022, the UN General Assembly resolution demanding an end to the special military operation in Ukraine was supported by 141 countries, and more than 100 states initially intended to participate in the summit.
“So support for Ukraine around the world appears to have dropped somewhat. And what Russia and China are trying to do seems to be successful,” concluded Munz.
Earlier, Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko announced Kyiv’s inability to achieve its goals at the upcoming summit in Switzerland. He noted that at the end of the summit, any document will be an “empty” declaration; the participants will not sign any binding agreements, since the “wrong people” will be present there.
