Rumors about a new incarnation of Sony’s PSP have been floating around for a while. But on June 4 they regained strength with the statements of an informant, TCMFGames, who stated that it will be compatible with all PS4 games.
This person shared the above through his Twitter account (@TCMF2), and from what he says this new model of this laptop has the tentative name of PSP3, although that could well change.
However, this new PSP would not only run titles from the PS4 library, but would have access to those from the PlayStation 5. From the way TCMFGames says things, this support would be after its launch and would be obtained through updates.
We recommend: There are the same number of active PS4 and PS5 according to Sony data.
This would be similar to how Valve Corporation handles things with the Steam Deck. Another detail revealed is that this console would use AMD technology but it did not go into many details.
As you can imagine, none of the aforementioned about this PSP, its PS4/PS5 gaming support and the fact that it uses AMD hardware is proven at the moment.
If it is indeed real, there may be news at a future Sony PlayStation presentation, not at a secondary event.
Although it’s also worth noting that a lot of what TCMFGames says still needs to be proven, such as a new PS5-exclusive game from FromSoftware.
That announcement would be of such caliber that Sony is likely to make it on its own and not in a third-party stream. As always, it is best to stay on the sidelines and hope for the best.
But surely many players would like to see the return of the PSP and more with compatibility with PS4/PS5 video games. Of course, issues such as the launch window and price are not known at the moment. It is necessary to be patient.
