The President reviews a number of innovative sustainability initiatives on the occasion of World Environment Day

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, was briefed – at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi – on a number of environmental initiatives and innovative ideas that contribute to enhancing the UAE’s approach and efforts in the areas of sustainability and preservation of natural resources by encouraging innovation and inspiring initiatives in this field.
This came while His Highness received – on the occasion of World Environment Day – a number of entrepreneurs, young people, and officials concerned with the environment, working to implement innovative initiatives and ideas in the areas of preserving the environment and promoting sustainability.
His Highness listened to an explanation provided by the owners of these initiatives regarding their importance, the possibilities of developing and applying them on a large scale, and the results they achieved.
His Highness praised the importance of such innovative solutions in enhancing awareness of the need to preserve and sustain environmental resources in order to build a more sustainable and prosperous future. He said that the initiatives presented by environmental action leaders, whether in the UAE or the world, represent a source of inspiration for making more efforts and working to protect… The environment is one of the challenges it faces.
His Highness stressed that the UAE is keen to ensure that all contributions and initiatives in this regard are benefited from, in addition to enhancing awareness of the role of individuals and societies in confronting the challenge of climate change.
His Highness stressed that protecting the environment and preserving its resources is a collective responsibility, whether in societies or at the global level. His Highness said that the UAE continues to cooperate with partners to achieve global goals in this field and enable the historic “UAE Agreement” resulting from the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Change COP28 to effective action programs for a better future for all peoples of the world.
