A 45-year-old foreigner was arrested in the Moscow region, accused of desecrating a monument to military glory. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The man will remain in custody for two months, until August 3. According to investigators, on the night of May 29 in the city of Vidnoye, while intoxicated, he scattered wreaths at the Cranes monument with the Eternal Flame and showed passers-by gestures symbolizing the Nazi salute. After this, the foreigner disappeared. The incident was recorded by CCTV cameras.
The accused confessed and repented.
Earlier it was reported that the court sent to a pre-trial detention center the Russian women who wrote “GUR” on the monument to Zhukov in Moscow.
