A recent report entitled “Future Prospects for Government Human Resources,” issued by the World Government Summit Foundation, emphasized the importance of governments and institutions adopting a comprehensive perspective on the future of human resources that anticipates major societal transformations driven by rapid technological development, thus enhancing their readiness for the future and their competitiveness.
The report, which was prepared in partnership with FTI Consulting, indicated that keeping pace with transformations in the field of human resources requires the government sector to take the reins of leadership of the change process through a comprehensive strategic vision, and providing the necessary tools to implement it in specific fields, sectors, and institutions.
Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Vice President of the World Government Summit, confirmed that proactiveness and readiness for the future represent two essential factors in supporting government development efforts in various areas of work in general, and in upgrading the talent and human resources management system in particular, for what it provides to industry professionals. The government decision is an opportunity to anticipate challenges and design future solutions to ensure the development of the human resources system on sustainable foundations.
She said that the World Government Summit report builds on the outcomes of the extensive dialogues witnessed by the World Government Summit 2024, within the Round Table for the Future of Government Human Resources, which brought together ministers and civil service officials in many countries around the world, along with CEOs and experts from the private sector, to anticipate… Future trends and expected changes and their impact on government human resources, identifying emerging and new trends in this sector, and innovative solutions to meet its future challenges.
The report highlighted emerging trends and potential interventions to shape the future of government human resources, through three main priority axes, including: developing skills, enhancing productivity, and developing talents, citing scientific studies and successful practical experiences at the local and global levels.
