Seven Finnish fighter jets arrived at a base in Romania to participate in a NATO mission
Seven Finnish F/A-18 Hornet fighters, as well as about a hundred military personnel, arrived at a base in Romania to participate in the NATO mission. About it reported on the website of the Finnish Air Force (AFF).
“The Finnish Air Force will take part in the joint NATO mission for the peacetime defense of Romania in the summer of 2024. Finnish F/A-18 Hornet fighters arrived at the Mihail Kogalniceanu base on Monday, June 3,” the department’s statement noted.
These forces will take part in the joint NATO air defense exercise Air Shielding, which will take place from June 3 to July 31. These exercises will be the first with the participation of Finnish forces.
Earlier it became known that the Finnish Foreign Ministry wanted to reconsider the maritime border with Russia after reports that Moscow wants to move it unilaterally. Now Finland wants to control the maritime border by monitoring the original geographic coordinates of the points from which the width of the territorial sea and the border zone along the islands and coast are measured.
