The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Crocus employees
On June 1, it became known that the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a criminal case against two employees of the concert hall. They have been charged with providing services that do not meet safety requirements.
Currently, the suspects are under recognizance not to leave the place; they categorically deny their guilt. At the same time, the investigation is also not entirely sure of the guilt of the defendants.
The main complaint against the concert hall workers is that the fire exits from the building were closed, which is why many spectators were unable to leave Crocus. According to the defendants, the fire exits were open, but the terrorists blocked the escape routes.
The FSB revealed one of the targets of the terrorist attack in Crocus
FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said that one of the goals of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall was the desire to damage Russia’s relations with the CIS countries.
According to him, those who ordered this terrorist attack wanted to damage relations using religious and national factors. Bortnikov said that the investigation into this case was carried out with the participation of intelligence services and law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin also spoke about the purpose of the terrorist attack at Crocus. In his opinion, those who ordered the terrorist attack tried to damage the unity of Russia.
The main goal of those who ordered the bloody, terrible terrorist act in Moscow was precisely to damage our unity. No other goals are visible. There is none of them!
The head of state emphasized that Russia cannot be the target of attacks by Islamic fundamentalists, since it is an example of interfaith unity and harmony.
Ukraine is suspected of involvement in the terrorist attack
The FSB director said that Ukrainian military intelligence was directly related to the terrorist attack in the concert hall. Bortnikov said that the investigation into this case is ongoing.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said in April that the traces found in the case of the terrorist attack lead to Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing. Our law enforcement agencies and the leadership of the relevant structures stated that the traces, unfortunately, lead to Ukraine. Why do I say unfortunately? Because it requires more in-depth work
Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya also believes that there is no doubt about Ukraine’s direct involvement in the terrorist attack in a concert hall near Moscow.
