Sony has opened the dedicated page of Astro Bot on its official website, revealing some additional details and also some gems on the new exclusive PS5 created by Team Asobi arriving on September 6, which on paper has truly remarkable potential.
In particular, some additional information was offered about the size of the game. Comparing it to Astro’s Playroom, the game pre-installed for free in every PS5, the robot’s new adventure is defined as “a standalone adventure that offers more than four times as many worlds300 bots to save and dozens of new powers and features to discover”. This is also in line with the details previously revealed by the PlayStation Blog, which speak of 80 levels spread across 6 galaxies.
Loads of PlayStation character cameos
If you have seen the first trailer of the Team Asobi title, you will surely have noticed the presence of various robots that resemble PlayStation characters, like Aloy and Kratos. Well, what is shown is just the tip of the iceberg: the page states that there will be over 150 VIP bots inspired by icons from over thirty years of PlayStation history.
It is also confirmed that Astro Bot is a completely singleplayer game, therefore without any multiplayer mode or functionality, and that it will not have any kind of microtransactions. Interesting to note that in the game there will be the “Gatcha Lab” (gatcha is a variant of “gacha”, a term used associated with Japanese capsule toy distributors, but which in our sector is also used to indicate free game mechanics -to-play related to monetization, such as Genshin Impact), through which we assume it will be possible to obtain various extras, such as costumes and various accessories, but in fact it is specified that this will happen exclusively through the numerous coins found in the various planets of the game.
