It runs in Montreal
“Were you pushing or not?” A year ago Fernando Alonso was curious to know if Max Verstappen was easily managed at the head of the race or if the Spaniard was actually a threat. 12 months later, Red Bull arrives in Canada with ‘only’ five victories in eight races, with Ferrari and McLaren growing rapidly and ready to put the supremacy of the Milton Keynes team at risk also in Montreal, another dangerous track for the RB20 in light of the importance of passing over the curbs on the circuit named after Gilles Villeneuve.
There Ferrari in particular it hopes to get more positive responses from the update package that debuted at Imola in mid-May. Charles Leclerc broke free after 40 races by winning in Monaco and will obviously try to repeat himself in Canada to further reduce the gap that separates him from Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ standings, a gap which is currently 31 points (in the rankings reserved for the Red Bull and Ferrari are separated by just 24 points).
