Yesterday new news was given regarding Return to Silent Hill, the new film in the franchise after the releases that occurred in the first decade of the 2000s. It seems that it will follow the plot of the second video game or at least have referential elements, either with leading characters and iconic monsters that will make fans tremble in movie theaters.
To celebrate that the film is on the right track, a first teaser has been released that shows us a few seconds of the film. Here you can see it:
This is the synopsis of the film:
The film will follow James (Irvine), a man broken after being separated from his one true love (Anderson). When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of him, he finds a once-recognizable city transformed by an unknown evil.
As James descends deeper into the darkness, he encounters terrifying figures, both familiar and new, and begins to question his own sanity as he struggles to make sense of reality and hold on long enough to save his lost love.
Christophe Gans, French director of Pact of the Wolves, also directed the 2006 version of Silent Hill, one of the video game adaptations with the best regard among audiences and fans (then it had a horrible sequel in 2012, but it wasn’t his).
For now there is no release date for the film, so we have to wait for more progress.

Author’s note: It looks pretty good and it is possible that thanks to this product there will be a new entourage of fans who will be interested in buying the video games. It seems like Konami is taking the right path, and let’s hope there are no disappointments in the way of the brand in general.
