“Multiple sclerosis is a complex challenge for our healthcare system, with repercussions on the health and socio-economic sphere of patients and their loved ones. Tackling it requires determination and a concrete commitment in terms of research, innovation and strengthening of services to guarantee adequate and personalized assistance. Through the reform of territorial assistance, with Pnrr funds, and in particular with home care, we are strengthening local healthcare, based on the centrality of the person and on the personalization of care it will become the first place of care, with the necessary support for the sick without burdensome travel.” Thus the Minister for Health Orazio Schillaci in a message to the president of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association (Aism) Francesco Vacca, to the president of Fism, the Aism Foundation Mario Alberto Battaglia and to all the participants in the World Multiple Sclerosis Day, on the occasion of the presentation of the MS and related pathologies Barometer 2024 which was held today in the Chamber.
“Recognizing the importance of a global approach, we are also committed to promoting a culture of inclusion and solidarity to overcome the barriers and prejudices that still surround multiple sclerosis. Collaboration with patient associations, such as Aism, is fundamental to achieve these objectives” he concluded.
