BehemothSkydance’s first-person action game previously announced for Oculus Quest, is back on video with a trailer dedicated to the PlayStation VR2 versionon the occasion of this evening’s State of Play, from which the release period also emerged.
The game is developed by the team that also created The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, which should guarantee a good adaptation to the control system and the virtual reality view, even more so on the PlayStation VR2 hardware.
In Behemoth we will have to fight for our survival within a glacial fantasy world reminiscent of Norse legends, with settings and characters that refer to typical northern traditions, even if it is supposed to be an original world.
A challenge in a hostile world
The player is called to take part in an incredible adventure in the role of a traveler lost in the Forsaken Landswith the need to use various types of weapons and equipment to combat the threats that arise along the way.
Skydance Interactive has developed a perfected and evolved combat system starting from the experience of The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, capable of offering challenging battles, but also some environmental puzzles to be solved, using tools such as the grappling hook applied to the protagonist’s arm.
In short, in addition to brute force, we will have to rely on some mechanics related to the use of grappling hook with rope, as well as other interaction possibilities that make the exploration of Behemoth’s cold environments quite stimulating.
As reported in the trailer visible above, the exit period of the game is currently scheduled for autumn 2024, pending further clarification.
