Enzo Maresca at Chelsea: the coach will sign a 6-year contract
Enzo Maresca will soon be the new manager of Chelsea. For days there had been talk about the Italian coach in pole position (in a race that also saw the name of Roberto De Zerbi linked to the blues) for the legacy of Mauricio Pochettino. And now we are one step away from the official announcement for the now former technical guide of Leicester – who will receive compensation (there is talk of 10 million pounds) – which led this year from the Championship (English Serie B) to promotion to the Premier League. Some details on the staff that will support the manager at Stamford Bridge are yet to be defined, but the operation is now practically completed. Ready 6-year contract for Enzo Maresca at Chelsea.

Who is Enzo Maresca, that Turin-Juventus derby in the sign of the ‘horns’
A versatile midfielder as a footballer, Juventus fans remember him with love after 24 February 2002 when he scored the equalizer (2-2) with a sensational header (cross by Thuram) against Torino in the final and celebrated by miming the running of the bull: a celebration that went down in the history of the Derby della Mole. Without forgetting his experience at Sevilla where he won two UEFA Cups (with a brace in the 2006 final won 4-0 against Middlesbrough), a European Super Cup, a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup. Bologna, Piacenza, Fiorentina, Olympoakos and Malaga were among his teams as a footballer (where he played 15 matches with the national Under 21 team).

Who is Enzo Maresca, from Guardiola’s staff to the spectacular promotion to the Premier League with Leicester
As a coach he collaborates with Vincenzo Montella at Sevilla at the end of 2017, he became deputy of Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham (from May 2018) and then move on to Manchester City signing him in 2020 as coach of the Elite Development Squad with which he won the Premier League 2. After an experience in Parma, he returned to Citizen joining Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff in the Treble season (Premier, FA Cup and Champions League won in the final against Inter). A season before saying goodbye and attempting the adventure as manager of Leicester City, who had just been relegated to the Championship, with whom he signed a three-year contract.
The result, as we said, is a triumph: leads the team to the immediate return to the Premier League, having achieved direct promotion with two matchdays to spare (and winning the championship with the best attack – 86 goals scored and the best defense – 39 goals conceded).
Chelsea to Maresca, how many Italian coaches in the history of the blues
And now Chelsea, which has a great tradition of Italian coaches: from Gianluca Vialli to Claudio Ranieri, passing through Carlo Ancelotti, Roberto Di Matteo, Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.
