An important part of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference will almost certainly be focused on AI implementations; talking about it, once again, is Mark Gurman Of Bloomberg.
In his newsletter Power OnGurman explains that the strategy of Apple is aimed at publicizing the possibility of AI to provide practical solutions for users who make standard use of its devices; this will happen through new features for basic apps like Safari, Photos and Notes. All, obviously, managed by AI.
Here’s what they should be:
- Photo editing
- Transcription of voice notes
- Suggested replies to emails and messages
- Emojis automatically generated based on messages, even creating one for every occasion
- Safari search improvements
- Faster, more accurate searches with Spotlight
- More natural interactions with Siri
- Enhanced version of Siri designed for Apple Watch
- Smart summaries of notifications and messages, web pages, news, documents, etc
- Developer Tolls for Xcode.
The AI features that require less computing power will run entirely on the devices, while the heavier tools will run on the cloud, without neglecting the privacy needs of users.
AppleFinally, it is considering advertising many of these AI features as previewsat least in the beta versions of iOS 18with the aim of arriving at the September launch with a more defined technology although still under development.
