TOLiberto Gamero, the coach of Millonarios, sounded subdued at the press conference, after Flamengo’s 3-0 defeat to his team, which ended up sinking them into last place in group E of the Copa Libertadores. Planning a new tournament is already in the coach’s head.
Millonarios still has the match against Junior, on Sunday, to try to have a dignified farewell, after a semester to be forgotten, in which elimination from the League was also sentenced with an early date.
“There are many things to improve, many things to correct. We had a great hope in this Libertadores and today (Tuesday) this Cup ends for us. It is looking, analyzing well. There was also that dose of luck: we didn’t have those four, five players that we had brought for this Cup. It went very badly for us, rethinking for what’s coming,” Samarius said.
Gamero acknowledged that we must start looking for reinforcements for the squad, although he insisted that there was a lot of bad luck.
Gamero believes that the team is not mentally affected by what happened. “Life is states of mind. When you have these results, this is seen in many passages, the team suddenly feels without spirit. What I see from this team in training, in concentrations and at times in games, is not the mood, things do not work out and do not work out. We have had games where we arrive, we arrive and we don’t score, and the opponent comes to us once or twice and scores one or two goals. All of this is going to be analyzed, I don’t know if this recovery period is going to be of more use to these guys than something mental,” he explained.
Gamero gave his version about the large number of injuries
