NVIDIA and MediaTek could present the new SoC intended for next generation PCs during Computex. Here’s what we know.
In recent days, rumors have multiplied about the arrival of a new chip dedicated to “PC AI” born from the collaboration between NVIDIA and MediaTek. Last week, major manufacturers such as Microsoft, ASUS, Lenovo and Samsung presented their Copilot+ PC platforms equipped with Snapdragon X Elite, kicking off a new generation of portable devices.

NVIDIA, MediaTek and the PC AI revolution
The Taiwanese site CTEE reported the news that MediaTek intends to present its mobile SoC Dimensity 9400once again equipped with AI capabilities, during one of the big upcoming technology events.
Additionally, the company will team up with NVIDIA to present its AI PC chip, which has been talked about for several months now. The goal is to compete with Microsoft and Qualcomm in terms of devices dedicated to artificial intelligence.
In recent weeks, Jensen Huang himself has returned to talk about the future of AI and the great projects that the green team is developing. The NVIDIA event scheduled during Computex 2024 could be the right opportunity to showcase the fruits of the collaboration with MediaTek.
What do we know about the new SoC?
The next NVIDIA SoC should be based on the 3 nm production process second generation from TSMC, very similar to the one used by Apple’s M4. It is rumored that the chip may feature the TSMC CoWoS platform.
According to rumors, the SoC will employ Arm-based Cortex X5 BlackHawk cores for the CPU And RTX Blackwell cores for the GPUall accompanied by LPDDR5T memories.
On the performance front, the NVIDIA and MediaTek chip is expected to be able to compete with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite, probably with particular focus on the graphics front.
