Phoenix, Arizona.- David Benavidez moved up to Light Heavyweight to face the Ukrainian, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, for the interim title of the World Boxing Council (WBC).

David Benavidez claims to be the best at 168 pounds and by rights ‘Canelo’ should give him the opportunity to fight for the championships, something that everyone wants to see in the ring.
His wish will be fulfilled by ‘Canelo’ as long as he pays the enormous amount of 200 million dollars, a figure that is priceless for any boxer.
And not only that, Saúl Álvarez already invited David Benavidez to be among those involved, the night of May 4, in which he defeated the Pride of Tijuana, Jaime Munguía, by unanimous decision.
The ‘Red Flag’ was found at the T-Mobile Arena, where he claims that Saúl Álvarez made fun of him for the way he encouraged him to get into the ring that night in Las Vegas, Nevada.
«It didn’t seem aggressive at all. It could have been more than that, but it wasn’t. It seemed more like he was making fun of me, telling me to get on with him,” Benavidez commented in an interview with ‘ESNEWS’.
«At the end of the day I want to be respectful, because I wouldn’t want him to get into the ring after one of my fights, because I would slap him. He wouldn’t have dared do it to me. And if he didn’t, he wouldn’t have let me get on,” added ‘Red Flag’.
