Something that stands out about the first five places is that they are fresh proposals, not sequels to already known series.

Oblivion Battery, Wind Breaker and Kaiju No. 8 are based on existing manga, while Train to the End of the World and Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night They are 100% original productions.

For some fans, perhaps it is a sign that sequels, especially anime that have already had several installments, are not as attractive in spring 2024.
