‘Dialogues on haemophilia A’ is back, a purely educational event that brings patients together with the most expert professionals. Born in 2018, conceived by Smc media with the non-conditioning contribution of Roche, the initiative aims to bring together, in an informal environment, clinicians and patients/family members for updating and in-depth information on all currently available therapies available for haemophilia A and a discussion on issues that, sometimes, patients do not dare to make explicit.
The ‘special intruder’ of the event, scheduled to take place in Rome on 6 June, will be Marco Mordente, a former national basketball player, who will help dribble the clouds of doubt between the clinicians’ responses and reflections on his personal life. Some stories will be illustrated live by Sara Menetti, a well-known cartoonist from Bologna, with the aim of composing a travel booklet illustrated and told through shared experiences. The focus of the meeting is well-being and quality of life in the context of a more dynamic lifestyle that patients can have today, especially those of a younger age.
To answer the questions – we read in a note – the doctors Cristina Santoro and Erminia Baldacci, from the Haemophilia Center of the Umberto I Polyclinic, Professor Raimondo De Cristofaro from the Haemorrhagic and Thrombotic Diseases service of the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic and Doctor Matteo Luciani from the regional reference center for haemorrhagic and thrombotic diseases of the Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital, Rome. The meeting is free and will be held at the Hotel Savoy Rome on 6 June 2024 at 5.30 pm. Further information on the website dialogueemofilia.it.
