With this new filtering option you will avoid all types of content classified as sexual, violent or having to do with drugs or gambling: before finding a creator who is playing your favorite title or giving you advice about their trip.
Let us remember that Twitch last year introduced its new Content Classification Guidelines, which require creators to properly label live broadcasts if they include sexual content, violence, gambling or drug use. These new filters allow you to choose to label certain content.
The new filters will undoubtedly provide a more personalized experience, as users will be able to hide entire categories when searching for something to watch. Previously, these content tags were only used as data to help Twitch users make informed decisions.
How do I avoid sexual, violent or drug content on Twitch?
Content rating filters are found in the Profile settings. So you must go to Content display preferences.
Once activated, the filters will be applied to all recommendations and search results, as well as the sequences that appear when browsing the platform.
The system will remember your preferred filter settings, so you only need to activate them once on the settings page. For those under 18, Twitch automatically applies the vast majority of these filter settings.
To provide a better experience when enjoying content, preview thumbnails can now be blurred for streams tagged as sexually themed. This feature will be enabled by default and can be enabled or disabled through settings.
However, if you follow a channel, the thumbnail will not be blurred, even if your rating tags exclude sexual content.
