As previously announced by CD Projekt RED, the REDkit Of The Witcher 3 And available from todaythus making the creation of mods for the game in question much more practical, thanks to an official tool which, in fact, allows access to real development tools for modders.
The launch is also accompanied by the trailer shown below, which shows something of the possibilities offered by the team’s software, which really seems to allow a wide possibility of modifying the elements of the game.
Beyond modifying or adding assets, REDkit seems to be a decidedly broader and deeper tool than usual.
In the trailer, for example, we can see how the REDkit also allows the construction of cutscenes or the creation of more complex quests, with scripted events and a real narrative progression.
Download link and information
You can download the REDkit at Steam at this address or up GOG at this other address. Compared to standard mods, which perhaps focus above all on technical aspects, this REDkit therefore allows for a decidedly deeper modification of the game contents.
Not that these are completely new things, obviously: the modder community has already demonstrated great creative abilities with The Witcher 3, but in this case we are talking about tools and assets that come directly from the CD Projekt RED team, as well as an interface definitely easier to use.
All this should also greatly increase the compatibility of mods with the base software, leading to fewer problems in applying them and a notable overall evolution of the mod environment for The Witcher 3.
In the meantime, the team is working on the new chapter of The Witcher, about which not much is known yet but which already has more than 400 people working on it, as well as a Remake on the way.
