UNAM speaks out before the Third Presidential Debate 2024

At 8:00 p.m., the event will begin. Third Presidential Debate 2024where Claudia Sheinbaum, Xóchitl Gálvez and Jorge Álvarez Máynez will address different topics and present their proposals to the public.

For this Third Presidential Debate 2024, the National Electoral Institute (INE) selected the headquarters of the Tlatelolco University Cultural Center, belonging to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Hours before, the UNAM spoke before the Third Presidential Debate 2024 and hoping that this democratic exercise is successful and useful so that citizens are able to exercise an informed vote on June 2.

The The highest educational institution also thanked the distinction made by the INE and the political parties.by choosing the University facilities as one of the venues for these debates.

UNAM: Commitment to democracy and information

In its statement, UNAM welcomed the candidates for President of Mexico and reaffirmed its commitment to democracy and the promotion of an informed and respectful public debate, where ideas and proposals are presented in a clear and transparent manner.

“The candidates are therefore welcome to this university space, democratic, plural and of freedoms, and much success to the INE for the organization and development of such an important event”

He Third Presidential Debate 2024 will take place at 8:00 p.m. and will last approximately two hours. On this occasion, the following topics will be addressed: Social policy, Insecurity, Organized crime, Migration, Foreign policy, Democracy, Pluralism and Division of powers.
