As we have already reported, Minecraft has turned 15 and to celebrate Microsoft and Mojang have “published” the sandbox video game on another platform: Google. Yes, it is possible play Minecraft directly via the search engine… well, more or less.
It is a easter eggs, more elaborate and interesting than the average Google Easter egg. Basically where to search for the word “Minecraft” via the search engine and a box with the game logo will appear at the bottom of the screen. By pressing, a character’s arm will appear on the right, as if you were exploring the video game in first person. By clicking on various points on the screen, you will “dig” through the browser page and create windows that overlook a Minecraft world.
As you can see in the image below, each part of the search page becomes an independent square, which takes up the style of various Minecraft biomes.
What can be done in the Minecraft Easter egg
Once you have created the various sections of Minecraft, the Easter egg is not finished at all. In fact, you can press on the individual cubes and break them. By splitting a material useful for crafting, you will also produce a tool that will allow you to dig more quickly.
If you keep scrolling down, you can generate new tiles for each search result and continue digging and looking for materials. Obviously everything is limited to small 2D sections and you can’t go beyond the first level of the excavation, but it’s still a nice way to “play” Minecraft.
In Italy, the 15th anniversary was also the right opportunity to announce the arrival of the Minecraft manga during the year: this is its first publication on our territory, but it was created in 2020 in Japan.
