“We know that organized crime is already trying to organize and influence the elections, if I didn’t have this information, I wouldn’t say it,” he stressed.
Castro Castro said all of the above during the Tenth Walk for Peaceheld this Saturday in the streets of Cuernavaca, capital of Morelos.

Bishop’s Message
“The Christian must be realistic: violence is a widespread and constant phenomenon that characterizes our times and (…) has somehow paralyzed the country (…), Mexico occupies third place in crime worldwide,” said Castro Castro.
For example, he cited that Morelos “occupies first place in femicides, dispossessions and bank robberies; the second place in kidnappings, intentional homicides and vehicle theft (…) and is one of the five most dangerous states in Mexico”, and according to the Commissioner of Public Security, José Antonio Ortiz Guarneros, “in Morelos this 2024 they have increased murders by 30 percent; Imagine for the commissioner himself to say it, it means that the situation is complex.”
According to intelligence reports from the Ministry of National Defense, he commented, mainly 14 criminal groups operate in Morelos.
“But three of these organizations are the dominant ones: Cartel del Noreste, Guerreros Unidos and Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CING). And now La Familia Michoacana has entered and is causing so many of the murders that we witness to take over the squares,” he added.
“There are also gangs that sow terror among the population, with high-impact crimes, such as intentional homicides, kidnappings, violent car theft, extortion and disappearances. Among these groups, Los Mava, Los Colombianos and El Comando Tlahuica stand out.”
Punishment vote
Bishop Castro Castro condemned that corruption and the relationship between public officials and criminals prevail in Morelos and Mexico; “How different Morelos would be, how different Mexico would be, without corruption, how different to live legally and without impunity.”
For this reason, he urged Mexicans not to be indifferent.
“Let us not be mistaken, brothers, as are those who, having civil responsibility and federal and state power to prevent so much violence in the streets, prefer omission, due to personal interests and lack of capacity and responsibility.”
“Democracy also serves to punish bad governments with the vote. If they do not know, nor do they want to, or do not do what corresponds to them, the citizens have that power,” the Bishop highlighted.
People demand security because it is their right, because they need it to work, to develop the state through productive work, and not through “the gifts that make us dependent and not free,” he added.
