The official Twitter profile of Elden Ring has published a new one image dedicated to the upcoming DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree. In addition to a short write-up, the post includes an image of a new creature.
The Elden Ring account wrote “In the Realm of Shadow, fearful enemies of unfathomable power await you” and shared the image you see below.
The image clearly shows an Omen, a type of creature that has a number of distinctive features considered impure within the Golden Order, the faction that dominates the Interregnum in Elden Ring. The lore linked to the Omens is obviously elaborate, but suffice it to say that they are usually recognized by the deformed horns on their heads, the presence of fur and often also a tail.
This Omen is shown in shadow, so we don’t see all of his features, but he appears to be leaning forward with his arms raised at his sides as he holds two chakrams. These are weapons never seen in Elden Ring and, considering that it has already been confirmed that there will be new categories of weapons, it is natural to hope that this image is a hint of what we can find in the game.
We also notice that the Omen wears a golden mask, perhaps to hide his deformed features. The quality of the mask and the fact that the horns have not been amputated suggests that the character has noble origins (non-noble Omens tended to be killed, too). We can assume that it is a boss and not a common enemy, but we will only be able to find out more when Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree comes out.

We remind you that Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree will be available from June 21, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
This will be the first and last paid add-on content for Elden Ring. It will include a completely new region, with new bosses, new weapons, abilities and more. Although it has not been explained in detail for the moment, we know that there will be a new upgrade system that will allow players to enter the DLC and experience the right level of challenge.
