Ghost of Tsushima just made its PC debut with Director’s Cuta, but How does it run on Steam Deck? To answer the question, Game Informer published a gameplay videos captured precisely on the handheld produced by Valve.
As announced by Sucker Punch and Nixxes, Ghost of Tsushima supports Steam Deck and is optimized for this platform, although not in an official way due to the need to use Windows to access the built-in features of the PlayStation Network.
Well, this optimization work appears clearly visible in the Game Informer video, which shows solid and visually impactful in-game actionwhich moves at 30 frames per second and is apparently free of stuttering or other issues.
Of course, the editors of Game Informer point out that in the most eventful situations there is some uncertaintybut nothing that can’t be further refined with future updates.
The sequences are those of initial phase of the Ghost of Tsushima campaignwith its many dramatic implications and the battles linked to the Mongol invasion, which push Jin Sakai to make a difficult but necessary choice in order to defend his land.
The enthusiasm is palpable
Judging by the gameplay captured on Steam Deck, it seems that the guys at Nixxes have delivered this time too a splendid conversionas already happened recently with Horizon Forbidden West, which for us represents a new starting point for PlayStation on PC.
Unfortunately the Game Informer video doesn’t focus on the graphics options available, limiting ourselves to using the default optimized presets for the Valve handheld, but we will discuss all these aspects shortly with a specific in-depth analysis, after having spent a few hours with the PC version of the game.
