In Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, the authorities managed to arrest an individual wanted by US justice. Jaime “N”, 36, was captured by ministerial police after being required by California authorities for crimes that include resisting, delaying or obstructing any officer, as well as reckless driving with disregard for safety.
The arrest of this subject was possible thanks to the international collaboration between the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora (FGJES) and Customs and Border Protection of the United States of America (CBP). The exchange of information and intelligence products allowed the location and subsequent capture of the individual.
Coordinated action between Mexican and US authorities was key in this operation. Once identified and located, elements of the Ministerial Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC) executed an arrest warrant against Jaime “N”.
Subsequently, in a joint operation with the National Immigration Institute (INM), the irregular situation of the individual in Mexico was verified, which facilitated his transfer to the Sonoyta – Lukeville border crossing, where he was deported and handed over to CBP authorities. .
