Prime Video he presented The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 2 at Amazon’s Upfront event, held this morning in New York City, with a presentation trailer and a release dateafter the results achieved in the first season.
Prime Video announced that season two will debut globally on Thursday August 29, 2024in over 240 countries and territories.
On that day we will therefore be able to return to Middle-earth, to follow the continuation of the events told in the first part of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
The first season of the series achieved considerable success on Prime Video, breaking the popularity record and being watched by more than 100 million people around the world, as well as bringing in more new Prime memberships in its launch period than any other other content.
The return of Sauron
In addition to the trailer, the new one was also revealed today poster which shows the return of Charlie Vickers as Sauron.
The teaser trailer takes viewers on a journey to JRR Tolkien’s Second Age, with the growing evil presence of Sauron who continues his vengeful quest for absolute power.
In the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Sauron will therefore return to the center of attention: driven out by Galadriel, without an army or allies, the Dark Lord begins his work of rebuilding his empire through cunning, overseeing the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to subjugate all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.
