Sony has recently published its financial reports and obviously the whole world has thrown itself headlong into it to discover a thousand details on the performance of the various divisions of the company, especially PlayStation, both in terms of software sales and in terms of sales hardware of PS5. Now, Mat Piscatella from Circana – US analysis company – shared a point of comparison to understand how sales are going in the territory of its jurisdiction.
Piscatella explains that by calculating the results of all the consoles in their forty-first month on the market (March 2024 for PS5), the most recent Sony home console is selling 7% more than PS4 and 66% more than PS3.
Piscatella continues by stating that 2023 was probably the best year for PS5 in the US and that the console will not be able to obtain better results than these going forward.
Precisely Piscatella’s tweet reads, in translation: “Today there is a lot of talk about PS5 sales… in the United States, in the 41st month of marketing of each platform (March 2024 for PS5), PS5 sales are 7% higher than those of PS4 and 66% to those of PS3. 2023 is likely to be the peak year for PS5 in the US.
