Beer container thrown against Morena candidate in Hidalgo

The candidate for the municipal presidency of Apan, Zorayda Robles Barrerarepresentative of the National Regeneration Movement party (Brunette), was the subject of an act of violence during a campaign event last Sunday.

The attack took place on the sports fields of the Chimalpa community, located in the Hidalgo municipality of Apanwhere Robles was holding a rally to promote his candidacy.

In a moment captured on video by one of the attendees at the event, it is observed how an individual, until now unidentified, He threw a glass bottle of beer at the candidate. while she addressed her speech to those present.

Fortunately, the projectile did not hit Robles or any other assistant. The quick intervention of the security team allowed the arrest of the aggressor, who was placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities for disturbing public order.

Another attack during the elections in Hidalgo

This incident adds to a series of attacks against female candidates in the state of Hidalgo in the context of local elections.

Elidé Olguín Covarrubias, candidate of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) for the municipal presidency of Chapulhuacán, reported having been the victim of an attack on May 10, when an individual, allegedly a sympathizer of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), fired shots on the air and intimidated his work team.

Likewise, Alejandra Moran, candidate of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) for the municipal presidency of Tula de Allende, reported an armed attack on her home on May 4, where at least eight shots were recorded.

These incidents have generated concern among the candidates, reflected in the ten security requests presented to the State Electoral Institute of Hidalgo (IEEH) by candidates for various popularly elected positions.

Given this situation, candidate Robles Barrera has called to guarantee the safety of all candidates in the electoral process, underlining the need to eradicate gender-based political violence and promote equality in all areas.

In response to these requests, the IEEH has announced the implementation of protection measures in collaboration with state and federal authorities, with the aim of safeguarding the integrity of the participants in the electoral process.
