After Saúl Álvarez’s victory, a boxing legend claims that he could last twelve rounds against the veteran fighter. The ‘Pac-Man’, Manny Pacquiao, considered the ‘eater of Mexicans’ challenged ‘Canelo’ to a fight.
«I know I’m old but I think I can fight twelve rounds against ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, I still feel in excellent condition and with a destructive punch. Obviously I would have to receive an offer from ‘Canelo’ to give people a real show,” he declared.
Manny Pacquiao would return to the ring at the age of 45. His last professional fight took place on August 21, 2021 against the Cuban, Yordenis Ugás, suffering defeat by unanimous decision at the precise T-Mobile Arena.
‘Pac-Man’ previously expressed his desire to represent his country, the Philippines, at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, but the International Olympic Committee (IOC) rejected his request due to his age: the limit is 40 years.
For his part, Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez would have his next fight in 2024 next September. The rival that the fans are asking for the Mexican is David Benavidez, as he is the mandatory challenger according to the World Boxing Council (WBC).
